To Bob Gig Review

To Bob at The ALMA, Friday 1st April 9 2006

I hope I'm not contravening some sort of web etiquette by using my first posting to announce a gig, but when I was told this afternoon that "To Bob" are playing at The Alma this Friday - and that I should pass it on, this seemed to be the obvious place to bring it to the attention of the maximum number of people in the area (and I know that the people who introduced me to this site were at the "Bobs" last Alma gig and specifically asked to be notified of any future local performances).

For anyone who's never heard them (or even of them) "To Bob" are an absolutely top notch Dylan cover band. They're a five piece with well over a hundred years of rock n rolling between them and it shows when they're onstage. And I'm not just talking about their faces, as soon as these guys start playing it's obvious that they are and always have been musicians. No surprise then that more than one person who has seen the real Bob in recent years, has commented that the To Bob's are infinitely more entertaining than the grumpy old groaner.

How often do you have the opportunity to see and hear one of the most rocking bands in the country playing in a local Crystal Palace pub - don't blow it! Come along to The Alma in Church Road this Friday and let the Bob's remind you what rocking is all about.

The To Bob Band are off the road from playing small gigs Jan 2008.  To Bob unplugged is still up and running and any shows booked via an Agency are OK. It's only the one off pub gigs and shows that end up costing us money to play that are suspended. To Bob came out on top in the USA Tribute Awards in LA. This April 1st 2006
To Bob was voted best Tribute act, best DVD and best CD of 2005. Then To Bob blew the place apart with a version of (Like a Rolling Stone.) "This is our special thank you to everyone who has supported us, by the only way we know how; playing Rock & Roll music," said Dave Bob, at the annual Tribute awards held at the Cathouse Club Sunset bl.
